Exterior wood shutters – Wood blinds, shutters sometimes called “strips” are not difficult to make. Lath strips make a good board and are cheap. An advantage of these blinds is that you only have to measure the height of each window and the slats should be approximately the same height of the window. Note that the blinds described here are only for decoration and not intended as functional shutters. Instructions
1. Collect wood, tools and other materials needed to build all the blinds. If they are all the same size, cut the strips and clamps for a wicket each size, and then use those pieces as templates for the other.
2. Cut and groups all the vertical strips and horizontal reinforcements. Label materials if you are building blinds of various sizes so you do not lose track.
3. Builds a complete shade of each size to serve as a template or guide for mounting the other of the same size. This will save you time and effort.
